Family in New Lenox has Banana Bread Butter Pool Cake PTSD. it's us... we are that family

I read reviews, I read comments, the raving amazingness of this recipe… it was THE thing to make! So I made it! I had ripe bananas just looking to be baked into something. So it’s possible I made an error in my baking… while the crumb filling and topping CLEARLY says two cups of flour – I did one. Maybe I should wear my glasses more? It’s possible. Well, that error caused a giant mess in my kitchen, learn from me and read the recipe correctly. My crumb – melted… I had a pool of butter on top of the cake that kind of soaked in, and kind of did not… Nicholas wasn’t so sure. Bronwyn wasn’t so sure. We ate around the edges. It tasted good – sure it would have been better as a crumb - but… I clearly messed that up. Also three sticks of butter – three!! This is the second recipe from this site that didn’t really go the way I was hoping. Time to find somewhere else to get recipes for now. But let’s be real… I think this time was me. 100% me. The reviews rave, people say this is the best thing ever, so I’m guessing if you make it right – it’s a sight to behold! Unfortunately my family now has Banana Bread Butter Pool Cake PTSD… so this is off my radar… oops.
