So, is it dorky that I call my brothers-in-law’s dogs Rusty’s dog cousins? :) Well I do – call me whatever you want, I will still probably say it. This year for Christmas I decided to make dog biscuits for Rupert and Misty. Do you know how hard it is to find a recipe that doesn’t involved some really odd things? Finally found this one – thankfully we had everything in the house.
I made them so they looked like little peanut butter cookies. Hopefully the other pups do not react as poorly as Rusty does to peanut butter. He’s not allowed to have it… he makes bad smells.
Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits
What you need!
2 cups flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup peanut butter, chunky or smooth
1 1/4 cups hot water
Additional flour for rolling
Make it!
Preheat oven to 350° F
Mix dry ingredients together.
Mix in the peanut butter and hot water. You may need to add more water if the dough is too sticky.
Knead the dough well. Rolled it into balls. Then make a cross hatch fork mark on the dog cookies. This is the same way you would do for human peanut butter cookies.
Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 40 minutes. Turn off the oven and let them cool overnight.
