Giant Cookies Surround Small Cookie - Small Cookie Retreats

Our church had a Trunk or Treat this Halloween.  We decided to go because we thought Bronwyn would love it (and she did).  I volunteer to make cookies.  When I say I... I mean Andy.  He started making them while I was finishing something else.  When I came into the kitchen he said the recipe didn't make as many as it was supposed to.  Looked in the oven - they were huge!  Andy is a fan of the spoon method - I am a fan of the cookie scoop.  But honestly?  His we're way better!  This recipe is a cinch, mix up a cake mix, throw in a few other thing and you have cookies!

Chocolate M&M's Cake Mix Cookies

Ingredients:
15.25 oz. package chocolate cake mix (or yellow)
1 egg
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 1/2 cups m&m's milk chocolate candy

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a large bowl combine egg, butter, and syrup, and cake mix with and electric mixer on low speed until thoroughly mixed.
3. Add m&m's, about a half cup at a time, stirring in with a wooden spoon. Drop rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
4. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire racks.

  1. I've made lots of cake mix cookies but never with chocolate syrup. I will have to try this. Merry Christmas!
