Skewers for the Girl

It’s not good when you love baking so much – but you dread making the dessert you’ve planned.
We had planned a brunch for Bronwyn’s baptism – at church with family and friends – 45 minutes away from our house.  We picked these strawberry shortcake skewers and thought they’d go over great.  Yep – right over in my lap on the way to church.  Actually – they didn’t – thankfully.
These skewers were amazingly simple.  I made mini yellow cupcakes without the wrappers, then we sliced them and strawberries.  Then we stacked and skewered with Cool Whip.  It was a tag team effort for Andy and me the night before.  We also made fun flags for the tops of the skewers… Just wanted to remind people that Jesus loves them. 
It was a great day – we continue to be so blessed by the love and support of our family and friends.  Bronwyn has so many wonderful people in her life.
