Salad that makes you happy

Taco Salad is one of those things I rarely think about making but when I do, it's a crowd favorite. It's also super easy.
Recently my family celebrated Christmas - on October 5. Yes... we did. Ok it's more like a family get together, there aren't really presents exchanged, just time to get together and fellowship.
I'll have you know Taco Salad - in it's many forms - is so good - mine was one of 3 there. Perhaps next year we need a signup for food - rather than go all willy nilly on the pot luck - but really? 3 Taco Salads was better than none - and that's truth.
You can pretty much do your Taco Salad any way you want - this is how I do mine.

Taco Salad
1 lb 95% lean ground beef*
1 (1.25 oz) packet taco seasoning
1 medium-large head of iceberg lettuce, chopped into bite sized pieces
1 medium-large tomato, diced
4 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
4 oz nacho cheese Doritos, broken up a bit into bite sized pieces
1 cup Catalina or French dressing

Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up into pieces with a wooden spoon. Add the packet of taco seasoning and stir until well coated. Set aside.
In a large serving bowl, combine the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and ground beef. When ready to serve, add the Doritos and dressing and toss to coat.
